This week has gone relatively well with our studies, with the highlight being Daniel finished his moviemaking project. This started out with ABC-Open (check out their projects if you live in Australia). ABC-Open is about getting the community involved in telling stories using various technologies – there may even be workshops happening in your area.
The girls started with the community choir this week – the first half of the year the choir builds towards a performance as part of a local festival. Jess is actually the minute-secretary for the committee that organises this event. Ord Valley Muster.
Our homeschool Network group had a get together to discuss the direction of our activities this year – there are always so many different opportunities. We have yet to confirm a programme though we know we’ll continue with a character lesson, a public speaking exercise (show and tell for the young kids), it is just the other activity we have yet to decide upon. Our co-op meets once a month for the morning. It is a very relational driven group that does activities together rather than a class driven co-op.
Jess and I head off to a quilting retreat this weekend. We are looking forward to that. Nomi has a friend staying over and they also plan to get some sewing done. Though Nomi and the boys can cook and look after themselves, I have done a bit of extra cooking – I want them to have a fun weekend too.
Here are some photos that show a bit of our week:
