We have had 2 months of very comfortable learning, lots of visitors, lots of community happenings. The time is coming has come though for a tune up of our routine.
We need to get back to getting all our Discipline Studies done not just the writing (which we all love!) Math, Latin for Josh and Typing for the others have to be added. Also need to work on Speech for Daniel.
Our Discipleship studies have been very hit and miss too. So much so that Jess didnt think we were going to finish our studies on Jesus Parables. We are going to finish it! I also need to do some preparation work on Character studies/issues (Character First and Cornerstones)
I am concerned about the younger two and their ability lack of to find something productive to do. I need to do some guiding here and they have been left to themselves a little too much lately. Ill have to be aware of options for them, give them the freedom to make a choice and if they cant dont let them drift around. At this point I need to TELL them what I want them to do. Ill get a list so that when they are trying to make a decision there are limited options. (Daniel can get overwhelmed at all the things he could do). Ill also use the list so I can make a quick decision for them.
This term Ill need to reduce the amount of times we are away from home in the mornings. This always makes a difference.
The challenge for MY responsibilities is to develop a strong Afternoon Routine habit (a good one!)
Our basic routine will look something like this
Outside time (with siblings)
Discussion / Discovery studies
Five in a Row for younger two
Notebooking History / Science for older two
Lunch / chores
Reading time / Room time / computer time for younger two
Reading time for older two (History / Science reading list)
Productive time / Work for pay
Free time / Outside time
Chores / dinner / Read aloud / Bedtime
Friday is slightly different
With limited Homeblessing
Art / Nature / Library / Pool / Life skills
Finish the day with Movie or Games night.
Free time (during this time I will have to monitor their productivity)
