Identify and Plan your Personal Growth
If we want to teach our children character, we must walk the talk – we must practice what we teach. Otherwise, our children will see us as hypocrites and not be interested in learning from us.
But you only become a hypocrite when you pretend to be something you are not. If you are honest about your desire to GROW in character, then your children will willingly grow with you.
Use these worksheets to intentionally think about the character issues in your life and how you are going to grow.
Your kids can become your Ally
One of the character traits that Peter and I have identified as a part of our family vision statement is Order. And yet, order is one of the biggest challenges to me. And my kids know it. When I think of walking the talk – I think of how many times we addressed order in our home, and I still need to learn better habits in this area. But because I’ve been honest and sincere in my intent to to grow in this area my kids have become my ally not my judge.
