Its been a while since I’ve shared a photo based post. Of course over the last little while we’ve celebrated Christmas, gone on a family holiday (vacation), and seen the new year arrive. Let the photos tell our stories:
Family photo – the boab tree is a local tree unique to this area
Peter and Belinda
Christmas day – After everyone opened their stockings – they gathered around the table to play a new game.
Jess and Nomi off to church Christmas Day
Brothers: Josh and Daniel
Jessica fell in love with giraffes in Uganda – Nomi painted her one
Kids on Christmas day
Daniel received a camera so Christmas afternoon he went on a farm walk snapping some good shots
Parrots – we always think of my mum (grandma) when we see these birds – her favourites
Christmas night open house. As we prepared for dinner I had a sense of just enjoying cooking with my girls!
Boxing Day tradition – backyard cricket. Boys go to a friends place to watch cricket, girls come to my place to not watch cricket.
part of the Boxing Day Test tradition
Sunset shot Daniel took, with a storm brewing
Road trip to Darwin for family holiday
Peter cooked a few times giving me a holiday
Nearby beach (not for swimming) – close to our motel
We took selfies after each activity: ten pin bowling, movies a few times, dinner, water slide
Naomi found this baby bird and watched as mother bird flew in and out to feed it and protect it.
Thanks to the encouragement of our friends we tried a new cuisine/restaurant. Indian / Thai (though we have eaten some Thai before)
New Years Eve was spent together playing Cluedo
The water slide park is free in Darwin but due to the rain, our family had it pretty much to themselves
Beautiful sunset as the sun broke through the clouds on a previously rainy day
We enjoyed our day at the Darwin War Museum – learning about both the attack on Darwin and Australian military history in general.
