Last week I shared my top 5 popular blog posts for 2014, today I share my personal favourites.  I hope you take the time over the coming week and have a read.

My personal top 5 (I chose these because I think they are helpful, relevant and reflect aspects of my life)

graduate homeschool highschool ID-100249317 (1)5 Basic Skills for Graduation (from Homeschool Highschool):  Naomi has finished year 12 this year, I wrote this mid year as I reflected on what I really wanted her to achieve in her final homeschool year.

gifted child homeschool ID-100232696 (2)Why I held back my Gifted Child:  A bit of a play on words, but still, a part of our journey.

stand up for yourself assertiveStand up for yourself; Teach your kids to be Assertive:  There is a fine balance between considering the other person and standing up for yourself at the right times.  It is something we need to teach our kids.

hubby works away from homeDealing with Life when Hubby Works Away: Once again, this was a blog post that drew on our own personal experience and journey.  Pete does work away from home a lot, and we’ve learnt ways to make family life still work.

our home - homemakerBeing a Homemaker:  The finer art of homemaking have often been laid aside for the purpose of teaching my kids life skills, and getting on with a very busy life.  As I come into a different season of life (as my kids grow up) I have more time to reconsider the art of homemaking.  First of all, I want to make sure I understand my definition of being a homemaker.

Thank you for being a part of my blog.  Thank you for the notes and other feedback that is sent.  I am encouraged each time I hear from a reader.

One of the things I am working on for 2015 is to upgrade my blog  – to merge my website and my blog together and to give it a bit more modern image.   Since my blog comes second to my family life, and my life in Kununurra – this will happen when it happens.  In the meantime, I hope to blog at least once a week here – please drop me a line if there is anything in particular you would like me to write about.
