Here are some of the online readings I have enjoyed (and been challenged with at times) during this last week.
50 Top Romantic Movies – I really enjoyed this list and review. I particularly enjoyed Sheila’s personal comments which will help me decide if I will or won’t share these movies with my girls (or watch them myself). One theme that was constant in her praise of a movie was the need to choose a life partner based on character – not just a flutter of the heart. If I can watch movies that lead into this type of conversation with my girls (and boys if they watch the movie!) then they are the movies I’ll be choosing.
Two choices every mother faces daily – to be intentional or Superficial. To be intentional is one of Peter’s and my favourite phrases with parenting. I have never thought of the opposite though – I like this post’s thought that to be opposite of intentional is superficial. Have a read – it is challenging but something we need to be aware of.
Another article that hits at the heart of mother – What are you blaming your kids for Today? – interestingly I think these two posts work very well together – when we are not intentional we do blame our kids for the consequences. I encourage you to read this one too!
A quote that made me think, taken from my daily readings at Word For Today: Epicurus said, ‘Don’t spoil what you have, by desiring what you don’t have.
This week I linked up with these linkup parties – if you want to find something more to read – pop over to one of these blogs and you’ll find a variety of topics.
