Our worldview is the underlying belief system that directs our every action; it defines what we believe about life. As a Christian family we want to see everything as God sees it. We want to have His perspective.
How does God see Family? The Individual? Marriage? Education? Government? Social needs? Environmental issues? Church? Business? God has something to say about every sphere of life; we need to know what that is, and let that direct our beliefs.
In order to have a biblical worldview you need to first of all need to believe:
- God exists (Hebrews 11:6)
- The Bible is God’s inspired word (2 Timothy 3:16)
Our belief system will shape our choices and actions. Once we know what God has to say on any particular area of our life, we need to have the faith to walk in it. These truths are under attack today – these truths are not what society bases their life upon. But as Christians we need to hold firm and not be distracted.
See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, … and not according to Christ. Colossians 2:8
