Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age. Matthew 28:19-20
This passage gives us a lot to think about:
- Make disciples: Disciples are made as you spend time and develop a relationship with people.
- Teach them: In order to teach, you first need to have God’s word fill your own heart and out of your heart you will be able to teach and encourage others
- Jesus is with you: You don’t have to have it all together – you just need to be with Jesus and He will help you go out and make disciples.
In order to build relationships and encourage others in the things of God you need to be a communicator. You may write, speak, act, or create – God has given us many ways to communicate his truth to the world.
Before you can communicate truth though, you first need to have it in your heart so much so that it overflows to your life. You must live it before you can talk it!
Has this post prompted you to talk to your kids about something true, something strong on your heart? Do it today! I’d love to hear of the conversations you are having with your kids. Please leave a comment.
