WEDNESDAY Predominately an independent day
Today started off with lots of outside time the weather is beautiful. After a lot of exercise activity Nomi and Jess sat on the Trampoline playing Boggle.
Josh, Jess and Nomi all completed their math for the day. Nomi and Daniel completed their phonics pages.
For our Camp Lapbook Jess made a popup book to display her procedure for putting up her tent. Making this book was a lesson not only in construction but also observation, following instructions and problem solving. Naomi is typing a list of families and each individual in the family who attended camp. During this time Daniel spent time on the computer writing letters with a kids art CD Rom and Josh helped install some software on the kids computer for me.
After lunch Daniel had his speech therapy lesson. He is progressing really well. We need to keep practicing full sentences as well as phonogram blends. The rest of his afternoon was spent playing with Domino the dog, riding his bike or building his space rocket.
Naomi spent the afternoon scrapbooking. Jess started her small wall quilt. We cut the patches all square and she pinned the four blocks together ready for sewing. Joshua worked on his history research and recording.
THURSDAY – Totally an independent day
Today was a free day the kids played outside. Daniel is competing against himself as to how fast he can ride his bike around the house. Lots of croppas but he is back on doing the same thing again within minutes! Joshua and Daniel have started playing war games with dice and toy soldier (Joshua has played these types of games by himself for years and is now teaching Daniel). Nomi is choosing to read a lot and is progressing through the Narnia books. Jess helped me in the kitchen.
They all did some writing of some kind. Daniels was a narration during his Quiet Time, Nomi did some copy work from her own Devotion, Jessica wrote a nonsense piece about family connections and Joshua continues to write a story. Jessica also started to put her book together for the book making competition she is using publisher and Adobe Photo Shop Elements.
