Saturday

I was just about to make some Germ Juice (something to knock out all our colds!) I thought to myself, “I should have Jess beside me”.    So with Jess watching, that of course encouraged Nomi to watch too, we made Germ Juice and discussed things like our immune system, enzymes and antibiotics.   I have often thought that a herb garden and herbal remedies may be a topic Jess and I should pursue together.

Daniel came to me to tell me he had fixed the stuck drawer problem we were having.  He took me through each step.  In one sense he fixed the drawer, in another he didn’t but I didn’t tell him that!  The best thing that came from it though, was that he and Nomi set to and organised our dvd/video collection.  This included setting up a new shelving system that has been sitting there waiting – a great organization task plus working together.

From here on in, Nomi felt crook-er and crook-er!  And with Daniel not much better!  So today was declared a video day – they have watched an Answers in Genesis video, 102 Dalmatians and a Shirley Temple movie!  As I type, Josh is organising a new War Game, Jess is reading to Daniel and Nomi is on the computer!

SUNDAY

Another day where people are feeling just a little blah… head colds, snuffle noses etc.  So today was declared another video day.  They built a cubby – basically filled our lounge room and watched their movies in their cosy cubby!

It is always interesting to watch that after such a movie-fest the kids drift off, one by one, to more creative pursuits.  I was sitting at my scrap-booking table, which is in the family room, listening to worship music and one by one they came in looking for something else to do.   I do enjoy us all sitting in the one room being productive.

Nomi did some mending on soft toys, she added her little flairs as she went along.

Jess tidied up my now deserted sewing cabinet (which was once so well stocked)  – in preparation for her sewing ventures.

Daniel did some drawing.

Then a storm came over and they all went outside to run in the wind, and play with the dog.  By the time the rain came they were nice and hot and enjoyed the downpour even more.

After dinner Josh watched an ABC TV programme on the insect world.  Jess continued with the sewing cabinet and Nomi & Daniel played Fish. (Card game)
